Charles Munson’s Cozy Cove Farm was the first registered farm in Latah County. He also served in Idaho’s state legislature for more than a decade, and as the state’s land commissioner from 1906 to 1909. His autobiography, Westward to Paradise, provides a firsthand account of Munson’s migration to Idaho and the early days of town building in Moscow. From the introduction by Kenneth B. Platt: “A great tale of adventure, made all the more appealing by understatement of the very real dangers encountered, hardships endured, difficulties overcome, and achievements won.”
